I am going to knit my children some school colour wrist warmers for school. I can knit a little and have made the odd hat, wrist warmer, blanket.

What I wanted to know what would you say would be the best wool for this? Something that will be very cosy and soft but will also wear reasonably well? I usually knit with Debbie bliss cashmero but will that get wrecked quickly?

As the items are only small I’ll only need a couple of balls so don’t mind spending a bit.

Thank you! CakeBrew

Have a look at the West Yorkshire Spinners range. Lots of colours and weights. I use some for walking socks, some for shawls etc.

This is 100% British wool and machine washable at 40.

You can't go wrong with stylecraft imo. Or scheepjes colour crafter. I buy them from wool warehouse.

Sock yarn would be perfect for this as it's made to be hard wearing, warm and washable.
