Hi Its my DD birthday week after next, and I'm stuck what to do. Dont really want to hold a party in the house as we have only just moved in, and the house is a bloody mess!

She has suggested going to the cinema with 5 friend, but I think they are a bit young to be doint that?

Have tried booking the community centre (£200 - bit pricey, also fully booked!)

Any suggestion please?

The arts and crafts table has always been the most successful activity at my dd's parties. The one they seemed to like best was when i cut lots of pink paper hearts in different sizes and shades and then they stuck them onto paper plates in butterfly shapes.

Friends took about 8 5 year olds to the nearest wildlife sanctuary and they all loved that. Do you have one near you? They probably do trails etc
