Lettering on crafts

Hi there. I’m looking for a way to add lettering to my smaller craft items (mainly wood) so I can customise items, For sale for birthdays etc. I was looking at a brother P-touch label printer and you can get transparent tape. Would this look really obvious? The lettering would only need to be a Cm or so, so stencilling would be very time consuming if I am making a quantity of an item. Does anybody have any suggestions please?

You can use acetone and an inkjet printer to do image and text transfer - look on Youtube for videos of how to do it

Pyrography might work
Depends on the item though.

A label tape will look terrible.

I have tried practising over and over with pyrography, but can’t get the knack, I can’t do it evenly. I have extremely neat handwriting, and tried using a sharpie, but it didn’t look right. Thanks for your tips!

Label tape will not work - particularly if mainly wood - it will not only be visible as different texture (even though ‘transparent’ it will surely pretty quickly Mark/leach the wood itself !!

Good luck op. Sorry not to have any tip - hope
Something works.

Can you get letters of the alphabet made of metal that you hit into the wood, like an assay office stamp on silver or a brand? No faffing just hit it and it gouges out a letter into the wood? Or heat it up and use as a branding iron?

Those wood burner pen things.

You tube Dylan’s Diy has vid of personalising using carbon paper first so the wood burner is easier to use. Looked pretty doable ?
