No-sew bunting

Looking for a simple way to make bunting and i came across a 'no sew' version. You cut the material with pinking shears, which is supposed to stop it fraying, then use a hole punch to thread the ribbon through. Sounds simple enough... Has anyone made anything similar to this? Will it stand the test of time, or will it just end up looking rubbish after a few uses? I plan to make a halloween one and if it works, a Christmas version, so would want to put away and get out every year.

Won't the holes from the punch fray?
Maybe Starch the fabric and see if that helps.

Thank you @Didkdt i haven't done anything like this before, so i hadn't even thought about the holes fraying, i was only thinking of the edges!

I'd consider something like these www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Fashion-Loose-Leaf-Reinforcement-Assorted/dp/B07N2CHM1J?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 or a bit more of an investment but more durable www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DS6HLBV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_k2MBFbVK7RW3G?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
Or use iron on hemming tape or bondaweb to keep them together

Thank you! Smile

You could use felt as it won't fray

You could use hot glue gun (£5) And glue the ribbon and fold over the material. Using the zigzag scissors will them look pretty I think. In fact if you go to hobby craft I’m sure they got ready made triangles and squares which can be used for bunting. They certainly have patchwork stuff.

Cut a diamond and fold it in half over the rin on. Glue in place.
