pom pom kit

Can anyone help? I am looking for a pompom kit like I had as a child (approx 35 years ago!) It had plastic click-together templates - circles and ovals- which you then joined together to make animals. There is a picture of similar here prillywear.co.uk/pompom.html
I ordered a kit from texere.co.uk which is OK but you have to hold the sections together- they don't clip together so not great for young children. Also the clover ones OK but really want the one I used to have! Thanks for any help.

thought you were after a porn porn kit.

wondered what one was

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 02/10/2007 17:56

when we make pom poms we just cut the templates out from stiff cardboard.

Yes I'm pjust too lazy to do the cardboard method - it's really quick and easy to do it with the plastictemp lates.

I went to look for them at Hobbycraft and Beatties, our local House of Fraser store, a while ago...nothing, Come four weeks later and they both have them. Pony do them. Cost about £2.50.
Just the thing you describe in three sizes.

we had this one from an independant toy shop. Its OK, the plastic bits are a bit knaff and don't hold together great when cutting like they did when I was little.

ScaryMonsterStories · 02/10/2007 21:06

The plastic bits do slide together in the John Adams one, but they easily unslide too. Tricky for 6yos to cut and hold at the same time.

Also they only do 1 size circeles. No ovals or anything.

I had a good one when I was a kid. It was sky blue and as you say the plastic bits do actually snap together and it had ovals [reminis]

OMG this is exactly the one I had as a child

ScaryMonsterStories · 02/10/2007 21:17

this seller will ship worldwide £7 + postage}....tempting.....

AlexMouse · 03/10/2007 09:55

That's the one I had too - I really want it now too. They need to snap together or it's too tricky for little hands. I also wanted to buy a few for spare birthday presents to take to parties - with a ball of wool I think it's a great present.
I might try Hobbycraft too. Thanks for the suggestions and sharing my nostalgia-trip.
