Best drop spindle for kids?

I have been looking at drop spindles as my 5 yr old is enchanted by the idea after I did some finger spinning with found wool yesterday (sadly I can’t find my own - lost in the black hole that is the loft...)
Looking at them I’ve discovered that the type that I used is a Scottish drop spindle but I am wondering if the Top whorl type would be easier for wee hands?

I don’t think it makes much difference whether it’s top or bottom whorl tbh.

I teach many kids to spin and we find the most important thing for a beginner is having a nice big flat whorl so you get a long slow spin with each twirl.
I also like the ones with a hook to hold the yarn instead of a notch as it comes out less easily.

I have found the one I use most from a box with a few different sorts - it’s the Louet bottom whorl on this page.

Thank you for taking the time Countess that’s really helpful Flowers
