Does anyone have a pattern for knitting mittens?

Basically I'm after a pattern for mittens, can't find one in any of my books and DS's hands are getting cold.

Ideally DK as I have loads spare, 6-9-12 months. Not bothered whether they have thumbs or not.

If anyone has an pattern that they could quickly jot down on MN for me I'd be very grateful .

Thanks.

Hiya supermonkey - these ones are quite good as they have ribbed cuffs rather than needing a ribbon to tie them on. That said, I usually run some sewing elastic through the cuffs too just to help them stay on. T

Not sure which size would be best so I've put them all in!

Mitts Right hand

With 3.25mm needles cast on 28[30:34:36] sts.
Work 10[10:12:12] rows k1, p1 rib.
Change to 4mm needles.
Beg iwth a k row, work 16[18:20:22] rows st st.

shape top
1st row: k1, (sl 1, k1,psso, k9[10:12:13], k2tog) twice, k1.
2nd row: p to end
3rd row:k1, (sl 1, k1, psso, k7[8:10:11], k2tog) twice, k1
4th row: p to end
5th row: k1, (sl 1, k1, psso, k5[6:8:9], k2tog) twice, k1
Cast off.

Repeat for left hand.

To make up join side and top seams.
