Why is my she’ll stitch crochet lumpy?

I know I crochet tightly, so using a 6.5mm hook with Aran yarn. It’s coming out lumpy. Might that be because it’s still too tight?

I would recommend you do a few shells as a swatch and wash and dry it. It's likely to relax when it hits the water, and you can see if you like the result. If it's still lumpy you could try going up a hook size. I am a very loose crocheter and often have to go down several hook sizes.
