Baby clothes for beginners

As the title suggests, I realise that it might seem a very ambitious end goal, but can anyone advise where to start?

I have two daughters and would really like to be able to make them dresses/ rompers etc.

I have never sewn before (apart from to repair things and fix buttons back on) and don’t own a sewing machine. I am looking to buy one (probably second hand initially).

Given the current situation I highly doubt that face to face lessons or evening classes are possible so has anyone learnt online- and if so, can you recommend a company?

Sorry if this is all a bit vague; it’s something I’d love to do, but am just struggling with knowing the best way to get started!

Thank you!

I would start with making a simple baby dress out of an old shirt. Try following tutorial. They have more advanced sewing projects when you get good at that sort of dress. all the best x
