Crochet colour help

I've had a request to make the a crochet sloth and will using this pattern and apparently the hat should be purple.

I'm useless at working out colours, any suggestions for what colour stripes if i go with a purple hat?

What yarn are you using?

It would be fine with a teal striped jumper I think.

I think i'll be using ricorumi - sourcing yarn in the right colours seems to be a bit of a struggle at the moment. I can't mix and match brands as things end up different sizes even when i've used what is supposed to be a good substitution.

If the hat is 020 Purple, I like the look of 040 Teal and 045 pastel green. Maybe 047 Pistachio...?

Thanks, it's so hard when ordering online, I really need to hold colours next to each other to get it right.

I agree. Sometimes I add them to my basket at Woolwarehouse as this at least puts the colour thumbnails next to each other.
