To go with this skirt?

It needs to be quite short

I like this but I'm not sure I could shorten it effectively

Does anyone know one?

Hurrah!

Bizarrely, it was one of the top hits when I googled free jacket pattern and looked at the images. It's odd how google works isn't it?

SoupDragon · 09/05/2020 12:09

Oh my goodness - it has a free cape pattern. I'm sure I need a cape in my life...

KatyMac · 09/05/2020 13:56

I have googled and googled and never got anything like that

I guess I had added in short so free short jacket pattern

Cape? where? we so need capes.....would it be awful to go on my exercise walk in a newly finished (here's hoping i finish it) wedding dress with DD and for her to take on odd photo or 2 in the local park?

And no, not at all weird 😂😂

That's nice - I have a vintage black gaberdine (lined with lilac satin) floor length opera cloak!!

We may not do social distancing shoot today as I have put 2 skirt panels in backwards!

Bugger

🤦🏻‍♀️

SoupDragon · 09/05/2020 18:15

Do you wear the cloak to the supermarket?

KatyMac · 09/05/2020 19:33

No generally hallowe'en or Rocky Horror show!

I wore it for my wedding

I'm not allowed to go to the supermarket anymore Sad

This is today's dress - not sure if I like it or if it's as formal as I intended

It's lovely.

The third picture makes it look formal but I can see what you mean.

Corneysjazzband · 10/05/2020 11:04

I love the first pictures. Stunning outfit! Have you looked for Steampunk style patterns? That would give the right Victorian feel I think.

Corneysjazzband · 10/05/2020 11:05

Oh and it needs a fabulous hat
...
You cannot go wrong with a fabulous hat. You could make flowers from leftover fabric...

KatyMac · 10/05/2020 12:20

Thanks - I try not to buy patterns and only buy PDFs or second hand paper patterns if I have to I'm a bit of an eco geek

@SoupDragon has found me a fabulous front and I may combine it with that interesting back (or I might not I haven't decided)

Hmm a hat - I do like a hat! Not sure I can make a hat!

Today is a tidy up day and I may make a bridesmaid dress from the remnants if I have enough & I need to re-centre the back seam - I found a stain so I am washing it after soaking in my husbands special stain remover mixture!
