Can only find bright colours where I've looked.

I get pretty much all mine from Wool Warehouse. It depends what you mean by "nice" and "tastefully coloureds TBH - I've never had any trouble finding either/both.

What did you want?

adelaya · 23/04/2020 23:25

I normally buy from snufflebeanyarn they have a gorgeous range of dk colours.

TARSCOUT · 23/04/2020 23:29

Lovebug Yarn's do some lovely wools..Small independent home business. Search on facebook. They are in Tillicoultry, Scotland

ElsieBobo · 23/04/2020 23:32

I buy mostly from wool warehouse or black sheep wool, both online. Look at Rowan, West Yorkshire spinners, and hand dyed independents. Also the southern wool show have a site with links to loads of small companies W hand dyed yarn etc.

I really like Sirdar’s baby bamboo range. Like Farrow & Ball for wool and super soft.

Marchitectmummy · 23/04/2020 23:34

Loop London have fabulous wool.

Wise Badger

Deramores have a good mix of garish plastic and lovely wool. John Lewis has some nice stuff.

A lot of independent dyers aren't producing, at the moment.

Thanks for this, I can’t find the yarn I want anywhere.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 07/05/2020 09:01

I would steer clear of Deramores, they have a reputation for late delivery and incorrect orders. I use Wool Warehouse and Black Sheep Wools a lot for mainstream brands. For beautiful hand-dyed I love Pook

Allnamesaregone · 07/05/2020 09:09

Mcaree Brothers for mainstream
Coastal Colours for hand dyed

ProfessorHasturLaVista · 07/05/2020 09:15

Tangled Yarn
Wool Warehouse
Black Sheep Wools
West Yorkshire Spinners
Hawkshaw Sheep (independent wool producer from her own flock)
The Wool Clip In Caldbeck, Cumbria, are doing mail order at the moment. Wild Wood Wools that they stock are beautiful, muted hand dyed skeins.

Elouera · 07/05/2020 09:15

Please clarify what you mean by 'nice' and 'tastefully coloured'???

Do you mean 'natural' coloured wools, pastels, 100% genuine wool, wool mix, acrylic or something else???

I crochet rugs for charity and mainly use: www.marrineryarns.com/

I also recently ordered from Deramores. The delivery did take longer than marriners, but no excessive, maybe 10days to arrive. Majority of online shops have limited colours at the moment though.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 07/05/2020 09:17

Loop London,

Liberty of London do mail order, they stock Rowan.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 07/05/2020 11:50

If you're after 100% wool and natural colours you could look at natural dyers. The price is £££ though.

Woolly Mammoth Fibres is the main one I can think of but there are loads out there.
