Yes, I saw on ravelry yesterday that it was up. Not too much I will knit, but there are some nice things

PurlyQueen · 14/09/2007 23:00

I'm v jealous that you've got your Ravelry invite already. I seem to be number 1,343,545 in the queue

I think it's done randomly, Purly. I have been on it for a couple of months now and it's wonderful, but I didn't have to wait very long. Just the luck of the draw I think. They seem to be making good progress with it all though, so the beta testing phase should be through soon. It's worth the wait, I can tell you- the answer to everything, basically

PurlyQueen · 14/09/2007 23:12

I hope so! I feel like the unpopular kid at school who hasn't been invited to a party .
Right now I have my hands full knitting for my first baby so perhaps it's for the best that I'm not on Ravelry yet.
Are you making anything right now?

Tamum · 14/09/2007 23:26

Oh yes, several things as usual I am actually making a log cabin blanket for each of my children so that I can finally run down my stash and buy some new yarn- genius. I think you're right that first baby and ravelry might be a bit of a clash! It's just so good for seeing how a particular pattern has worked out for dozens of people, without having to trawl through blogs. Are you mainly doing baby clothes atm?

warthog · 15/09/2007 07:19

i've also been put on the waiting list for ravelry, about a month ago now and haven't heard. i'm looking forward though!

Oh, you'll love it aviatrix, but it is a bit absorbing... The forum is mainly US based, so at least that is quiet in the mornings.

Well, some, but most patterns on there have been knitted in lots of different yarns by different people, that's one of the strengths of it. You can also search by yarn, so you could easily confine yourself to ones that are easily available. Certainly things like Cascade 220 feature heavily, but at least that can be found online in the UK now!

PurlyQueen · 15/09/2007 15:41

Oh yes - it's baby clothes central round here! I'm trying to use up my stash but I keep finding myself just passing John Lewis for baby yarn and pattern books.

I'm holding off writing about them on my blog (www.purlyqueen.typepad.com) until DH and I have announced the news of my pregnancy.

Tamum · 15/09/2007 16:11

Oh, lovely blog! I especially like the close-ups of Koigu . I have made two Charlotte's webs out of it and am contemplating another with the remains. It's so hard to choose the right colour schemes online, though, which is why I've got so much left. I have that Yarnplay book too, I love the sweater on the front.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and don't worry, my lips are sealed

fillyjonk · 15/09/2007 16:18

at not having ravelry invite yet

right off to read new knitty

PurlyQueen · 18/09/2007 16:49

Someone must be reading my mind!
I've just received my Ravelry invite.
I can't wait to get home and have a play!

Tamum · 18/09/2007 16:52

Oh hurrah, enjoy it

PurlyQueen · 19/09/2007 17:30

Having just wasted an hour on Ravelry, I can see that I'm going to have to prise myself away from my PC if I want to get any sleep before the baby is born!
