Help! What's the best way to display a collection of old photos for an event?

Sorry about the long title, just wanted to get all the relevant info in there!
Planning a party for my dad and wanted to find a way to display lots of photos I have cunningly pinched from his collection.
Can't do anything expensive involving photo developers and don't want to scan them.
Have a cork board, but don't want to put pins in. Would be great to do some sort of montage without damaging them in any way.
Has anyone done this?

you could get a piece of felt to layover the cork board - even make it like a fitted sheet then using velcro dots - the spiky side and that attaches to velcro. You can also here in Aus buy the photo corners - stick them on a great sheet of paper laid over the cork board and then attach the photos that way.

I did this recently with baby photos of dd old school mates. Because they were not my photos I didn't want to damage them either, so I stuck plastic wallets on a piece of lining paper. You know the sort, the ones you use in a A4 folder. I'm sure thats a much bigger scale than you were after, but how about buying one of those cheap photo albums and pulling all the little wallets out of them? Then you could arrange all the wallets on the board and put pins in them and not the photos.

Thanks very much for both suggestions. Couldn't get felt very easily, although I like the idea of covering the board. MLM, the photos are all manner of shapes and sized but I guess using a combination of those things might work. Good suggestions and thanks again. Any other also gratefully received!

Use a large piece of cardboard or stiff paper & cut diagonaly slots in - then poke the corners of the photos into the slots (hard to describe - but like you see in photo albums!). The card or paper could then be put onto the wall

Or buy cheap photo frames & put the pics behind the glass ??

if you go to a picture framers you could get some mounts and then just use some masking tape to tape the pictures into the mounts as it wont hurt them then you can just stickytape the mounts to whatever you like and it will look very nice and proffessionally done, or get a large sheet of card yourself and cut apitures (sp) into it and use masking tape to tape them in, you could decorate the card however you like and not damage the pictures. thats the best I can think of... I know masking tape is ok becuse dh is a photographer and thats what we use at the studio as it dosent tear the pic or damage it becuse its not that sticky. good luck
