Punch needle embroidery kits - recommendations?

By chance I came across what looked like an amazing way of doing free-hand embroidery (company called Boomera) but when I went to order, noticed they are in Australia and delivery would be 15-20 days or more - I want something NOW! Google / Ebay search shows hundreds of kits so I wonder if anyone has a personal recommendation please. Good quality with different needle heads, starter threads to be included and the ring thing too. Happy to pay up to £20. Can anyone help?

Hi there is a company called the Modern Crafter that do this sort of thing. Their kits are a bit pricy - maybe £40 but it might be worth having a look at their products on Etsy. I’m sure you’ll find other companies there too.
Another place you could try is the Village Habedashery website.

Brilliant, thank you. Can't wait to order something and get started!

Such a coincidence because I discovered punch needle embroidery on YouTube at the start of lockdown. I decided to give it a go and I ordered the standard punch needle (it comes with a threader), carpet tack frame and some monk cloth from Whole Punching. The only problem I have is that it’s wreaking haven’t on my dodgy thumb joints and I don’t think I can carry on with it.

Oh no, Dog, that's not so good - maybe take a break / rest hands for a while? What did you start embroidering?
