Repairing a cuddly toy??

Hi, I'm trying to repair some worn spots on Mr. Bun, my youngest son's beloved cuddly. The worn spot is round Mr. Bun's right eye - any advice on how to mend him? I did suggest an eye patch 😂 I have tried to add a photo but appareny I've exceeded the limit -?? Not uploaded any pics today..

Hi there, have just seen your post as i was scrolling through looking for inspiration for my next project.
My daughter's Foxy was 'got' by our terrier and had his eye removed. After tears and recriminations I gave Foxy an eye patch with black felt. It was well received. Thankfully... We all thought it gave him an endearingly 'rakish' look. My daughter is 39 now and Foxy still lives tucked by the head of her bed.
