Can anyone recommend any good YouTube tutorials and books for a total beginner? I have seen a few but they seem a bit too fast to follow, need something nice and slow .

Bella Coco on YouTube. Her beginner tutorials.

I used a book called "crochet unravelled".

I started off with Bella Coco (she is slow so great for beginners) then found some others like Lexie Loves Stitching and Happy Berry Crochet (really like her) but I've moved on to using more US crochet terms now as it makes so much more sense to me and I find it easier to follow in written patterns.

Best thing is to find someone you like to watch and listen to.

If you find them going too fast I put on subtitles and slow the video down (so useful!)

For US crochet terms Creative Grandma and Very Pink Knits on Youtube are really good!

Also there are some sites that have step by step pics showing each stage but there are more US term sites for that (I google until I find one)

Am hankering to buy some lovely crochet books.... must look into it at weekend Grin
