Can you decoupage over gloss paint?

Just that really. Accidentally used gloss and I'm worried no glue will stick to the walls? Any advice for a beginner please? Thank you!

Yes you can but it may help if you lightly sand the paint first to provide a key. What glue are you planning on using?
