I am sorting out my craft area as I am at present just using it as a storage centre rather than crafting (and my whole house is at present covered in my craft stash too).

I do have a small budget to spend, I am thinking of a peg board. I also have a desk and 2 large units form Ikea and 4 plastic storage towers (which I hate).

Crafts I do are knitting, sewing, cards, soap and candle making, oh and my new toy a cricut!

Any idea would greatly received

Thanks

I'm trying to set one up myself. I also have some towers that I dislike. I'm a long way off getting it sorted but good light, some unobtrusive way of playing an audiobook and as much table space as I can manage are my current wishes. That and room for my sewing machine.

My craft room is our former slightly bigger than a box room spare room. I have the Skádis pegboards from Ikea over one wall. Lots of different clips, shelves, boxes etc that you can attach. In front of that I've got a Tornviken kitchen island which gives a large enough work area and a couple of shelves. I've got a bar height chair but often end up standing so something that's kitchen worktop height suits me. Then to side is Besta units which I've shelved at different heights for various crafty bits. Have my die cut machine set up on top of that. That leaves me room for a wee armchair & footstool in the corner.

Thanks for replying, I am thinking of popping to Poundland tomorrow as someone has said they have pegboards and accessories. Unfortunately Ikea is a little too far for me to just pop in.
I have been looking on Pinterest and have fallen in love with so many room but they must have spent a fortune on them and to be honest would rather spend it on my stash!!

I have two Hobbycraft pegboards that hold different threads (bobbins and spools), my various scissors, cutting mat, glue gun and glue... so useful! I painted them the same colour as the walls. I also have a wheely trolley from Hobbycraft that holds useful stuff and I use the top level to hold my pin pot etc. so it's not on my table when I'm using the machine.

One of those multi pocketed over the door storage hangers might be useful.

I have two of these in the garage for my craft storage.

Something tall enough to be comfortable standing at is great for sewing and other things. I find a table too low. Kitchen units and worktop would work but I was lucky enough to snaffle an old RN wooden chart table for my room - designed to stand at so perfect for cutting out, pinning, using a guillotine, etc, and the shallow drawers are great for material.

Ooh I like those peg boards!

Ilovemyshoppingtrolley · 19/01/2020 09:30

I didn't get the pegboard in Poundland as they had none of the extras to go with it. I have an old office desk that I work from, as I am not particularly tall I can sit or stand. I do have 5 plastic drawer towers and in the past I have split them up s they are towers of 6 but I am thinking of returning them back to their original form and putting something like a piece of work top over them for another work surface. Would love to keep my guillotine, shredder, laminator, sewing machine and Cricut out all the time.

Sorry but this may sound silly but what is a Cricut for?

I am still learning but so far I love it!
