I made all this a while ago and now don't know what to do with it! Does anyone know any websites I can sell it on?

how about parties for friends etc. get them to invite at least 2 people you do not know, and then you can try and get them to have a party etc and your customer base will double everytime..hth

bubblemummy, my shop is imagingermonkey.etsy.com I'll do a link
there you go!
I make felt toys and am just in the middle of doing some bibs and vest sets with applique animals (which will be in the shop by the weekend when I have finished a load, and when I can decide how much to charge - I want them to be pretty cheap, because they make good baby shower/new baby prezzies and it's nice to get something for a bargain sometimes! )

looneylovegood, shame about the credit card thingy. It's definately something for you to think about though, using DP's because it's a cheap way to have a shop and I think your stuff would go down well, it's really nice.

hiya - I sell some jewellery & have done a couple of school fairs & then got some orders via that (put details in with items) - although to be honest, I prefer to make things to order rather than make 'stock' items. Its not currently a business & I only look to cover costs so I can buy more scrummy beads to play with , most is sold via word of mouth & I have sold some on here.
A lot of people use Ebay & Etsy or set up their own online shop (but then it gets a whole lot m ore serious !)

Another idea is through schools.
I chair a preschool and we do a Ladies Night once a year, also a Xmas fete. we are always looking ofr people that have their own small busineesess.

Hi loony

I get friends to take stuff into work with them (time it for pay day!) and they sell loads for me... they take commission for it so everyone's happy!

Also I get friends to run jewellery parties for me - again, commission for them - sales for me!

Keep meaning to put some on MN but a little put off the £30 or whatever that you have to pay in small bus ads. Not sure how much I'll sell through them either.

Oh, I started a thread recently about how to get my stuff into shops - will dig it out... had some invaluable advice which I have since used. Got my wedding range into a shop last week so it was v useful!

LadyMacbeth · 29/08/2007 08:37

here you go

The toddler group I go to has people selling stuff. Think for 10% of sales to the group. People bring their own children, who just join in and then man a table. Might be worth investigating.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! You have been very kind! I shall do some thinking about the best way to sell my bits!

If anyone wants to buy anything email me hollyandalice at hotmail.co.uk. I'll put some more bits on my picturetrail later.

Holly x
