Basically as the title says, would love to have a go at making soap but need a recipe that has been tried and tested!

Thanks

I’m new to it too so I don’t have any tried and tested recipes but my plan is to melt some Melt & Pour soap base, for every 100g of it I’ll add 2ml of essential oil, pour into moulds, leave for a bit then push in a couple of cinnamon sticks before it dries (still jelly like?) then leave it for a few hours or overnight.

Hobbycraft have lots of soap making things and different types of soap bases.

So is the soap base instead of the lard and lye? (sorry if that is a daft question!)

I used this really simple recipe. It uses only olive and coconut oil, and uses grams instead of ounces.

I made mine using the soap base, added autumn scent essential oil and popped a cinnamon stick in. I used a Christmas shape mould. They were done in an hour and smell lovely.

I’m going to find a recipe to use ground oats for next time.
