Sewing gift ideas for 10 year old

My 10yo DD has recently started sewing lessons. We have bought her a basic machine for Xmas (her teacher said to get her a basic one first as I won’t know how to manage the all singing, all dancing one they use in class).
What essentials can I get her to go with it? I’ve bought some pretty cotton fabrics and some scissors and now I’m stuck. I have no experience of sewing, I can barely sew a button. I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials every night and will get her sewing machine out of the attic next week and try and have a play Confused
Poor DD has had such a shit few years and she’s finally found something she enjoys and feels she is good at so I really want to spoil her with every thing she will need.
Any help is hugely appreciated

A sewing box with lovely glass headed pins, a seam ripper and cotton threads in a range of colours. Look in the haberdashery department in John Lewis. There is also a book about making projects with a quarter of a metre of fabric that might give her some inspiration.

I'd also put in some hand sewing needles, a tape measure and maybe a pretty (small) box for buttons. Perhaps also some spare machine needles and thread bobbins. I don't do a lot of machine sewing but I do find it frustrating when I don't have an empty bobbin to wind a new colour of thread on to.

I'd put some decent thread in there too; something like this. Decent thread makes all the difference, and I'd choose a sew-all sort rather than cotton.

That is so helpful! Thank you so much!

I was thinking about this earlier and realised I'd forgotten to suggest a pincushion.

I agree about a selection of threads, and maybe a pattern for a simple skirt would be nice too.

A small cross stitch sampler might be a good stocking present for her? They usually come with a complete kit needed.

A reel of tacking cotton would be useful too, used for tacking, basting and tailors tacks.
