What crochet hook size please?

Gorgeous chunky yarn. Pattern says to use suggested hook size on yarn label but I can only see needles!

Have done the same pattern before with a different chunky yarn but cannot for the life of me remember which hook I used.

On my gauge, a US 15 is equivalent to a 10 mm needle or hook.

I may go for an 8mm then as it's going to be a basket and tighter stitches will help it be stiffer and stand up better.

And upon checking, I don't have a 9 or 10mm hook 😂

Handy resource, thanks BlankTimes. It doesn't give knitting needle to hook sizes though.

I'd hold my needle and crochet hook together to see if they were the same size, then use that size.

I think the bit that says 10-12 at the top of the crossed needles is the MM size which is the same for crochet hooks I find.

Have finished the basket now (haven't got of pic of completed one yet!) and the 8mm worked well to give nice tight stitches (half trebles worked with double strands of the yarn)
