What would you make?

The white cotton fitted sheet from my bed has a 4 inch rip in the middle so I've bought a new one. Would love to make something from the old sheet as there's a lot of fabric there (super king size). I'm reasonably good with my sewing machine. What would you make?

Why not have a google for Pillowcase Dress, there are lots of patterns and instructions/videos available. You would probably get two out of your large sheet, they are easy to make.

You could use it for your own child, or send it off to one of the charities that distribute them.

Or more seasonally, does your local school need an Angel Gabriel costume?

Ive been making loads of reusable wipes recently or I would use it as a lining for a little dress or something. Or use it as practice fabric for something you want to make but not on the good stuff first.

My daughter will be an angel in the school play! How did I not think of that?! Thanks for that.

Also good idea in the reusable wipes. How do you make them out of cotton please?

I would either double or triple layer then with cotton after cutting them into about 6” squares or use an old towel and use one layer of cotton and one layer of towel - sew right sides together leaving a gap, turn the right way and top stitch. Alternatively, overlock them if you have an overlocker. Spent ages cutting out loads tonight!

If you want to have a go at dressmaking, use the fabric for test garments and simple tops?
