Christmas crafts for older kids

DD is 11 and loves crafts. I'm looking for ideas for things we can make for Christmas. Am happy to buy some supplies. She has a sewing machine and can do basic things on there. Any ideas?

I once made these type of baubles out of felt. If you teach her to do a blanket stitch they can be hand sewn easily (easier than a machine!). Or the card version is good - in my thrifty childhood we made them with old Christmas cards rather than new card.

Felt robins like this would be easy enough for a novice sewer. I made a set of robin bunting once which was easy and looks great.

I'm not sure if it's suitable for an 11 year old but you can make swirly baubles with clear baubles and nail polish. You can also do it by putting the nail polish on water and dipping the bauble in but I think this is slightly trickier and possibly messier! If you google nail polish baubles there are several videos explaining. Primark do cheap nail polish I think.

I'm making these this year, recycling old Xmas card scenes for the 'middles' (and maybe personalising a few with photos).

Might they appeal to her, too?
They're pretty straightforward, so she could customise with more challenging extras, if necessary. I think they're elegant!
