Crochet hat and scarf

Hoping to make sets for the kids in the family so ages 1 to 8 - has anyone got an easy pattern they'd like to share?? Any tips? I've done scarves, blankets and a couple of toys but no hats yet.

Have you tried Ravelry? Bound to be something on there.

There's too much I'm still a beginner and the thought of the thousands of patterns out there (that might be rubbish!) is intimidating me so I'm hoping an experienced crafter will appear with a link to a tried and tested one!

Bella coco has a straightforward beanie pattern and she has the YouTube video to explain her pattern. She also does a nice infinity scarf pattern.

I've just watched the tutorial - looks great. Do you think I could add a different coloured band to the bottom, using the same stitch but lengthways and then use that as the fold over section??
