I will post this in the Wanted section but I thought here would be a great place to ask for these things. Forgive my terminology as I don't know if these things are actually called what I just called them, but I hope you understand what I mean.
I want to make a sling and I think I need all these.
Could you tell me how much incl postage to UK?
Thanks.

Do I need an A3 mat? or could I do with an A4 one?
Do I need a rotary cutter or could I use blades?
Tell me what you have... thanks.

A sling? Don't you just need scissors and a sewing machine?

AnaKi · 10/08/2007 15:53

Thanks; yes, got those two, but I think that having a mat, a cutter, a proper ruler will help me do it quicker. Am I wrong? You know better than me.
I am still ISO this unless it is a complete waste of money for me ATM.

ISO?

look on ebay for reasonable priced items

NotADragonOfSoup · 10/08/2007 15:59

What sort of sling? I made a fleece pouch with just scissors and sewing machine. Not sure I understand why you'd need a mat and cutter.

MerlinsBeard · 10/08/2007 16:01

you just need a pair of scissors and any old ruler surely?

AnaKi · 10/08/2007 16:33

ISO: in search of.
You see, I was looking at sling patterns (mei tais) and in some pics I saw those things that I was looking for so I thought I would need them as i am a perfectionist but am also a good listener and will listen to the experts (you all), and if you say that I don't need them then I'll make it without them.
I'm sorry for waiting you time in such a silly thing like this.

I meant "waisting" your time

OP posts:
AnaKi · 10/08/2007 16:34

oh dear ... "wasting".

Trust me, a pair of scissors will do fine

puppydavies · 13/08/2007 11:29

between them they'd set you back upwards of £40 new so if you're just making the one sling i definitely wouldn't bother

AnaKi · 13/08/2007 13:12

mmmmh, thanks for your help and advice. I'm almost ready to start making it... the only thing I need is time,

Well, I've no idea whatsoever where you might find that.

Sometimes a DVD and/or a bottle of Medised works...
