Anyone knitted together different brands of DK wool?

...did it work? Assuming they are both pure wool and have the same wash instructions! I would love to combine in order to get the colours I want, but have never tried it before.

Oh all the time! I just knit with what I've got. I made a blanket for dd1 recently (on my profile) and it is a mix of all different sorts of wool. I just washed the squares separately before joining them all together, just in case some shrank in the wash.

I also knitted a jumper a few years ago from two different types of wool. It washes fine, bobbles horrendously, but what do you expect for £5 for 500g of wool

should be fine.
