Help with sewing - beginner 11 year old

Dd had a sewing machine ( old John Lewis mini sewing machine) and learnt to do bags from clothes she got from a charity shop.I can't sew and would like some advice about a book she can use to do little more complicated things. She is 11 by the way so the book needs to be fairly well laid out with clear instructions. Thanks for your help.

I would look at the first Tilly and the Buttons book - patterns are all for woven fabric, and the illustrations are very clear. While the patterns are cut for women, the skirts for example could be made for an 11yo, and she'd get a good introduction to garment sewing principles.
