Best paper/pencils/art set?

I've got an Amazon voucher and as I've started sketching more I thought I'd spend it on a nice sketch pad and pencils or an art set. Any recommendations?

Thanks Smile

Strathmore sketch books are good they take mixed media well and aren't expensive. Seawhite are nice and a British company too well made sketchbooks with good quality paper.

For pencils I'd just grab a couple of nice mechanical pencils unless you want coloured pencils in which case I personally prefer Polychromos they are expensive but worth every penny as they like butter to the cheaper end would be Marco Raffine which are oil based like Prismacolor but without the lead shattering issue that they're having.

Can you recommend a good mechanical pencil?

I've been using cheap B pencils at the moment.

The best mechanical pencils I’ve found are Pentel Graphgear 1000.

They’re not cheap, but they are a real cut above all other mechanical pencils I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot 🙈)

Another sketchbook to consider are Leuchtturm sketchbooks, which come in a range of eye catching colours. The paper is really nice too and works for quite a few different media (pencil, coloured pencil, pen and ink).

I like propelling pencils by Koh I noor
