Help! I need clothing patterns for a baby boy wearing cloth nappies!

Hello! My 6 month old son wears real nappies - as such his bum is a bit bigger than average! Most retail clothing is designed for babies wearing disposable nappies and is therefore slimmer in the bum (bit like me before I got pregnant!) You can buy clothing designed for cloth nappy wearers like the Cut for Cloth range but I find it's a bit expensive, and I've a mother with a sewing machine, infortunately she's not too good at adapting modern patterns! DS is at an age now where I'm a bit bored of stretchy bottoms so if you've any ideas...
I've already scoured our local charity shops for old patterns...no luck!
Hope to hear from someone soon!

My DD also wears real nappies. I just put her in clothes for one age up and usually find that they fit with no problem.
She's 8 months old now and about 72cm tall.
She happily wears 9 month/1 year/80cm clothes.
Sorry, I can't offer any advice about patterns.

Thanks for getting back to me! Trouble is that as he's in trousers if I buy the next size they are way too long! Turn ups don't seem to work too well either. Vests etc are always great in the next size, especially if you get those vest extender thingys too!

I see.
DD isn't wearing trousers right now as it's so hot over here. Don't have the length problem with shorts!!
Sorry I wasn't much help!!

Hi, I will have to check the pattern number but I have used a simplicity pattern in the past that has lots of room around the bottom and is REALLY quick and easy to sew . I think it was meant to be more of a PJ pattern but I have used lots of different fabrics (some stretchy, some not)

It is simplicity pattern 3941 that I have used: www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=thumbnail.cfm&cat=5&type=23&sec=63&StartRow=28

Washersaurus, that sounds great, I'll look forwrd to getting that pattern number, thanks.
Thanks to you too RuthChan - I only wish it was warm & sunny here, all we seem to get in Wales right now is rain, rain and more rain! DS had some lively summer clothes but it looks like he'll bypass wearing some entirely Shouldn't have taken the tags off should I! I'll learn, this is our first!
