How to finish this quilt?

Made a quilt for DS. First time and I'm sure I've committed several quilting crimes! But, it's together and I just need to finish it off. I've used a very light weight batting which says "can be stitched up to 8 inch (20cm) apart or as closely as you want.
The red border is about 15cm so can I leave it as it is?
The panel in the centre is stitched around the border and I've stitched around the rocket and clouds. It's ~20cm either side of rocket. From rocket tip to corner is 30cm. Will this be ok?
Stitched around the mini panels. (16x16cm)

But the blue part is 30cm. So what can I do here? The only idea I've come up with is to stitch some 5 - pointed stars randomly around it. Would this look silly?

I would probably stitch the stars as you planned. It looks fabulous.

Have a look at some of Leah Day's tutorials on YouTube for inspiration, the quilt looks fab I'm sure he'll love it.
