I’ve made a portrait of a friend’s dog using fabric and freehand machine sewing, but I can’t decide whether to add some autumn leaves around the neck. Initially I really liked them, I think they make the portrait look more finished, but now it’s sewn I also like it without as it looks a bit more serious. Able to change the number and arrangement of leaves if that would make a difference, also leaves will have veins sewn on so will look more detailed than just the current shapes. Any opinions gratefully received!
