sequin spiders
wiggling worms that actually move
robots made of loo rolls
paint your friends face with your left hand
paint half a picture then pass it on to the next kid for the other half
make a rainmaker
a brick wall made of different brick designs, every kid does a brick, ie kath kidston patterns
shadow puppets
make a dragon
paint a dragon's head

paint a pirate ship mural and a skeleton crew
paint what you would see through the worlds most powerful telescope if you looked at a weird planet
under the sea - glittery fish to make a shoal
miniature people riding on insects
what the worlds most delicious cake would look like
the worlds happiest monster - what would he be called? what would he wear? what time would he go to bed?

read them all a passage out of a book Ie the Twits where a character/s is/are described and get them to draw the character and write a poem

?

a rocket to the moon,
a crazy caravan
build an outfit for adventuring in
blindfold drawing
cutting up newspapers to write ransom letters
teams- doing different animals/monsters/dragons/birds
take in feathers and draw a massive bird together
segments of a caterpillar

teach them how to sketch from family photos
they bring in
by using basic shapes and building the sketch up, and measuring distances between eyes/nose etc on faces

WOW!!!

Thanks PussyAmour!

You sound as if you're talking from experience. I'm meeting the teacher this afternoon to discuss some ideas - i definatley like some of those you've suggested.

I know one day they are focusing on Picasso so faces are a good option.

Thanks again!
