I need some ideas for a Pirate crafty activity for tomorrow. Please!

So it's our village fete tomorrow. Theme, pirates (obviously).

Our Toddler group was (is still) going to be running a stall for children to make, colour in and stick things to a pre made pirate hat and/or cutlass.

Only the complete plonker who was supposed to order all the hats & cutlasses forgot.

So we have glue, pens, and many tubs of colourful paper, glitter, pom poms etc, but nothing to stick them too.

Oh yes we were going to be charging parents to let their children come and make a hat. har di har.

HELP! Ideas please. Have printed off some piratey pictures but they look really shite.

can they not draw treasure maps? and stick things on the maps?

if you have any thick card you could still do the cutlasses

Is this any help? Might need more stuff than you've got though.

if you have a few thick pieces of cardbopard you can make really absic hat templates and make it part of the activity- nothing fancy, one of those that have a strip round the head, stapled at abck with a semi circle shape to the top.

If that amkes sense

treasure maps is a good idea, as well- if you have glitter the other thing would be to make 'pirate games'- a treasure map and a few pieces of eight to take home hide and find via the maps.

what about a treasure chest that you fill with shredded paper and card gold coins if they can find three gold coins they win a choc coin or freddo (everones a winner) or face painting/nail painting pirate style

Ah ahven't seen those LOL (not much choice around this way you understand)

Oh I just knew that there would be some really good ideas here. We have already made flags for the parade, but there are some really good hat plans here...will need a trip to HobbyCraft in the morning!

The treasure chest in a good idea too...will check with DH (the chair) to see if anyone else is doing that. We do have a manky old trunk in our garage that would be perfect for the job.
