Crew neck to boat neck

How feasible would it be to change a high necked dress into a boat neck dress? For a seamstress?

Have fallen in love with a dress but the neck is really high, and so I would only wear it if I could alter that.

I'm not a seamstress but I'd be happy altering it myself, all I'd do is find the neckline I wanted on something else I had, and use that to help me make the right amount of alteration.
