Nephew and fiancée expecting in the spring. I'd like to knit or crochet a blanket as unlike baby clothes it will be useful for more than one season Grin .
Looking to buy online so can't judge softness. Grateful for any suggestions please.

Bamboo or bamboo blends are very soft, and generally washable depending on what it is blended with.

I was given a blanket made from a lambswool&silk blend.
incredibly smooth and soft.
washable on wool cycle

I love bernat baby blanket yarn. Very thick so easy to work with too.

I like Baby Cashmerino by Debbie Bliss, I think it is. It's gorgeously soft.

This stuff is lovely for baby blankets. From China so it's cheap but takes ages for delivery. It washes and tumble dries perfectly too. Doesn't bobble.
