Havent heard of Boyes, so dont think there is one near me.

Never thought of trying charity shops.

here don't think there is one near you, didn't realise, sorry.

i got some knitting needles from a charity shop for about 5p each, they seem to chuck everything like that in a big bag and you have to search for what you want.
