I love Diptyque candles but they are finally just too expensive. I would really like to be able to make something similar, but wonder how realistic that is? I notice a few candle making courses in London and would be very interested o hear from anyone who’s attended such a course.

I make candles, but not been on a course.
Loads of online resources, and youtube is great for instruction. A lot of it is trial and error, when you encounter a problem there is usually an online answer- good luck!

Thanks speakout. Can I just ask, are your candles scented? If so have you found it difficult formulations scents which work well with the candle burning process and which you feel work well?

Check out www.craftcourses.com they do candle workshops and there are often reviews left so you can see what they are like

I make candles just for our own use but its not easy to get scent throw cheaply. You need good quality materials.

I’ve looked around for courses and I think I’m going to do one next month. There’s a £45 at earl of east London which sounds OK.
User, I’m prepared to pay for good quality materials, even essential oils if necessary. Has it taken you a while to develop formulations which you feel work well?
