How much fabric will I need to make this wrap top do you think?

I have seen this top which I really like but thought I would try and make it myself - there is some really nice stripey fleece fabric in my local shop. How much do you think I would need though - would rather buy one metre than two if I can get away with it, but don't want to end up with not enough - anyone any good at assessing these sort of things?

I would suggest using a long sleeve jumper you already have - measure the dimensions of the back, the sleeves and the front (which should be doubled as its cross over), plus a bit extra if you're adding the hood.

I think fleece is usually around 150cm wide on a roll so you should be able to plan out how much you need

That's probably not a bad idea dizzyday - I do in fact own a wrap top (though tis a maternity one) so I could probably do that quite easily.

(Now why didn't I think of that?? )

Hello Miaou Yes, I would have thought at least 2 metres to be honest. Could you improvise a paper pattern and go from there? If in doubt, leave the hood until last and get more material for that if you can't squeeze it in, maybe.

That's a good thought, thanks Tamum.
