How would you apply this?

I’ve found this lovely embroidery piece but I’m wondering how to attach it to fabric.

I was thinking appliqué paper?

What are you planning on attaching it to? I'd want to sew it onto the fabric, probably with a blanket stitch then trim off the excess mesh.

I was thinking just to some cotton to make a cushion cover.

I'd use bondaweb or fabric glue behind the decorated bits (so not the mesh as would show through) to hold it in place and then carefully stitch to ensure a firm hold (and enable light washing if on a cushion)

Would need tiny hand stitches so they don't show through and ruin the decoration though..
