Whizzy Wirework - very experimental - what do you think?

Whizzz · 02/06/2007 20:28

I have been playing with wire today & come up with 2 zig zaggy bracelets - not for sale (as I still have to work out the fastens & the right wire to use) but just wondered what people thought of the design ?

Prototypes Zig Zag 1 & 2

I can't claim it to be a totally original idea, as it was roughly based on a magazine pic!

Love it! Have tried to do that myself but have stuck to very short bits as dangly beads, my co-ordination goes and it would go wonky if I tried to do a whole bracelet! Think the blue one is my favourite.

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2007 20:41

Yes I like them

How much would you charge for something like that please Whizz?

Whizzz · 02/06/2007 20:45

I honestly don't know yet F&Z. They took ages of fiddling ! I need to work out what type of thin wire is best + how to stop it being scratchy + the best way to fasten.
Practicality-wise, I want to be sure they don't catch on things or come undone!

The blue one is more of a random mix of shades & shapes, the purple one is a bit more uniform.

Oh I love them!!

I also love the Yellow turquoise & rose quartz! Is it for sale? It's exquisite!

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2007 20:48

I think I would be interested in buying them as presents, once you get a price worked out

keep us posted pls

AttilaTheMum · 02/06/2007 20:59

Another possible customer here too!

I'd also love one of those Natural Looped Lariat thingies if you're still selling them?
I'm rustybear btw masquerading under the guise of a 5th century war leader - I think you have my email - you did me a couple of spectacle chains earlier this year.

Whizzz · 02/06/2007 21:39

OO I'm glad a few of you like them - I was in two minds whether they looked a bit wacky & too "unusual"

Atilla - have emailed you

Fireflyfairy2 - have sent a CAT to you - I have just enough yellow turqouise left but the stones are more browny than greeny - still pretty though

fireflyfairy2 · 02/06/2007 21:43

Great! Haven't received it yet, though hopefully I will soon I haven't paid a fee though So can I still receive it?

AttilaTheMum · 02/06/2007 21:45

Thanks Whizzz - have replied.

Whizzz · 02/06/2007 21:48

Peachy · 03/06/2007 00:42

Ha- can you post anything without flogging loads?

have you cottoned on yet that you are Rather Good?

UCM · 03/06/2007 00:44

Love them Mrs Ratner . They are truly gorg as ever.

Can I ask did DH provide the tree

Whizzz · 03/06/2007 14:44

thanks Peachy !

UCM - nope the tree bits were picked up from the shores of a Scottish Loch at Easter !!

So you don't think the zig zaggy bracelets are a bit too wacky then? ...zig zaggy necklaces......zig zaggy earings.....

OP posts:
Whizzz · 03/06/2007 14:44

ACtually Peachy I'm a bit

The new bracelets are great, Whizzz!

Also I feel quite smug - ive got some of that yellow turquoise - I made a simpler stretch bracelet, and a necklace, although i dismantled the necklace and will be remaking it with a better clasp.

Im also desparate to make some polymer beads after seeing yours - Ive got a roller, just havent made the time to play with it!

How do you make the flat beads - do you shape them by hand or use a mould?

wurlywurly · 04/06/2007 21:52

ziggy zaggy bracelets are gorgeous, I would love one of those when you have finished tweeking with them,

VeniVidiVickiQV · 04/06/2007 21:59

Fabulous whizz!

Which did you do first? The blue or the purple?

GreebosWhiskers · 04/06/2007 22:13

Love the new bracelets Whizzz - esp the purple one.

Actually the sweetie bracelet is fab. Are they glass beads? ds (nearly 7 months) would love something with big chunky beads to play with when he's sitting on my knee. I already have a breastfeeding necklace for him - I don't suppose you do any breastfeeding jewellery do you?

p.s. - how much is the sweetie bracelet?

Whizzz · 05/06/2007 21:45

VVV I did the blue first (a bit random)& then the purple one (a bit more planned)

GreebosWhiskers - I will CAT you

OP posts:
Whizzz · 05/06/2007 22:09

GreebosWhiskers - have sent you a CAT re sweetie bracelet - I havent made any breastfeeding stuff as I am concerned that I couldn't guarantee that it would be 100% safe for babies.

Fubsy - the polymer clay flat beads are made & shaped by hand - I'm still learning though

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/06/2007 22:17

Yes, I thought so. The wiring is much neater and its less crowded.

I might need to commission you for something, if thats okay. I'll cat you at some point in the next week.

Whizzz · 06/06/2007 22:37

LOL - yes, that's why I feel I can't sell them just yet - a bit mre practice is needed !! Looking forward to your CAT

kickassangel · 06/06/2007 22:55
