Glueing rhinestones/chrystals on fabric?

I need to stick stones onto fabric for dance outfits. Wondered if anyone had done this or had any tips?

I noticed some glue specifically for this in a craft shop - it was also waterproof so shouldn't come off if gently washed

You can also buy hotfix stones that are ready glued and just need a quick iron to stick - makes it a lot quicker.
