eBay is good and are the local fabric shops

It depends on the type of fabric you're after, local shops are best for stretch fabric and jersey, I've never really had anything nice from eBay. For woven fabric eBay has been fine.

I quite like fabric land for the 90' vibe of their website.

I love that site

Fabric land is good. Abakan. Try remnant kings ?

If budget allows there are some beautiful novelty prints (Alexander Henry etc) on elephant in my handbag, fabric godmother, fabrics galore, frumble.

Maud’s fabric finds is worth a look. One of my faves, especially for high quality jersey, but is having a closing down sale and not sure how much is left .

Minerva fabrics is good in addition to the above.

I get mine from the rag market or local Indian haberdasheries, as they have a huge variety and it's usually really reasonable. I live in quite a large multicultural city though so am lucky to have choice.

Look in charity shops. I got a really big piece of Laura Ashley 1970s 100% cotton fabric (more than enough to make a skirt) for £2 the other day.
