Anyone seen with fake leather?

Hi I just wanted to pick anyone’s brains to see if they’ve ever used leatherette or fake leather?

I’ve been asked to make a large bench cushion and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a massive pain to work with because it’s so rigid. I’ve made bench covers before but with materials that can be eased. Even then it’s a bit of a faff going round the corners and zip placement.

I would much rather use something else if it’s going to be difficult but I need the info I order to tellmyfriend this! Otherwise I’m worried it’s going to look a bit crap.
Thanks.

I’ve used fake leather but only for small things like pouches and pencil cases. It was actually amazing to work with but it stuck under the presser foot. You can get a Teflon foot to stop that though I think.
