Anybody Mod Podge?

I've just bought some Mod Podge. I'm a complete newbie.

I've got an old wooden box that I want to make beautiful.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

As I understand it, I slop on the MP, stick my paper to it, roll it flat with a brayer to get rid of bubbles, leave to dry for fifteen minutes then apply top coat of Mod Podge to seal it.

Really, is it that easy? I've been watching YouTube videos and it looks that easy but I must be missing something!

Mod podge is just watered down PVA glue, so just use it how you would PVA.

I meant how you would paper mache.

This week, I'm going to decorate a wooden box with bits of newspaper.

If I'm covering the whole box, I assume I don't need to paint the box? I can just brush mod podge straight onto the smooth (i.e. sanded) wooden surface?
