Online fabric shop recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any online shops for dress making fabrics please?

I like Minerva crafts, sewisfaction, Adam Ross fabrics, myfabrics.co.uk... I'll try to think of more

Abakhan, Croft mill, shaukat and Truro fabrics are all good.

I like shopping at Sew Me Sunshine, they have a really good range of dressmaking fabrics including some ex-designer fabrics www.sewmesunshine.co.uk :)

Croft Mill are excellent. As are Abakan, but you need to know your fabrics with Abakan.

I’d avoid all the trendy Tilly and the Buttons Style traders - overpriced often not the best quality.

I am currently steaming and stretching some gorgeous fine pure wool I bought from Fabrics at Play for €18 per metre in order to cut a dress out. It’s designer deadstock from Portugal and the traders are really lovely. My previous order they threw in an extra 150cm because of a tiny fault in the length I’d bought. A fault I could easily cut around.

How experienced a sewist are you @Jimwenttothedarklands ?

Goodness me just looked at Sew Me Sunshine recommended above - it prices by the half metre which I think is always a bad sign, and I’m not that impressed with the range or quality. Their wool coating ( I always see the quality of the wool and linen carried as a test for fabric shops) is mostly polyester and they don’t t carry much pure linen.

Better to look at Croft Mills or Simply Fabric. Much better quality and range. And they price per metre - prices around two-thirds to a half of the Sew Me Sunshine prices.
