. . . fingerless wrist warmers? I've got the pattern & really like the look of the Noro yarn but want something that looks funky & is machine washable.
Anyone got any good ideas?

It's going to be something synthetic if you need machine washable I expect. Try browsing Sirdar/Patons etc for something in the right gauge.

Why do you need machine washable by the way - it only takes moments to rinse out a small handknit in a little Wool Wash and then you get to use gorgeous yarns.
