Embroidery - anyone love it?

I just love it and wondered if there is anyone else out there? I'm not as keen on cross stitch though I'll do it if I have to, but I love drawing my own designs and embroidering them.

I've just finished a large design from a kit (plants on shelves) & am now working on one of my own pieces - a wall of my dad's study. I'm self taught but would love to do a day workshop or join a guild or something.

I have done a little and found it incredibly relaxing. Keep meaning to do more, but I have a lot of other projects on the go (quilting, dress making

I do! Can’t stick cross stitch but love the variety of stitches and effects with embroidery. My lovely grandma gave me all of her ancient transfers from magazines, so I’ve got plenty of designs to choose from, but not enough hours in the day :(

Oooo I've just discovered embroidery as a hobby and
doing my first pattern! Smile I'm not amazing at it but I'm hoping I'll improve with practise.

I really enjoy it and like pp, I also find it relaxing though it hurts my eyes if I do it for too long Hmm

Yes, I do, it is my mind unwind and relax time...suppose this is one reason why I do like cross stitch. I used to do other types of stitch but just find with all the other constraints on my time cross stitch is easier.
Agatha the plants one sounds nice but it's great you are doing your own designs too.
Wildcherry I like the sound of your other hobbies, agree with science there are not enough hours in the day at all!
Accio so glad you have found a lovely pastime Smilewhen you get going you will so pleased with a finished piece. And if you feel brave enough to give them as gifts it is great.
