Has anyone been to one? It is at Waterstone's on Piccadilly - I'll be the one knitting a pink and purple debbie bliss newborn cardigan (almost snap viticella), I'm stupidly excited about knitting with other people!!

Never heard of them, what is it?

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:00

Where's your nearest? There isn't one in my town but I work in London, so I can go.

Enjoy, you lucky thing, I will have to make do with knitting on my sofa and bitching in my head, so to speak (possibly at the TV schedules)

florenceuk · 08/05/2007 16:08

bella I thought this was tomorrow? But I can't go cos DH is in Denmark anyway...

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:10

Well, how does one bitch when one doesn't know anyone? I shall find out! Actually my sister will be there, but I think i'll concentrate on the stitchin'

for some reason my school internet server wouldn't let me access this site?

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:10

Whcih Debbie Bliss book do you recommend Bella?

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:13

I've got Baby Knits for BEginners - all very simple so good for me, but also simple design wise, so they look nice, everything else I've looked at is all flouncy, ribbony or too precious - so simple one are the ones for me. Plus, there are a few different cardis so I can just change the colours around to make them even more different.

definitely tonight- the email said the last newsletter was wrong

Thanks bella - have just ordered a copy from Amazon - have been meaning to buy one of her books for ages. Maybe I should start my own Cypriot bitch and stitch!

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:26

ooooo let me know how you get on - so far I've made the v-necked cardi, the shawl necked cardi (very proud of this one, for my nephew) and one bootee. I've just started the moss stich band cardi. I'm going to turn into one of those mad people who can't get pregnant but has drawerfuls of baby clothes!

For some reason I've been avoiding the baby knit books but I do have Debbie Bliss' book, How to Knit, got loads of really good patterns in there. Just started on my first bag!

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:32

I don't want to knit adult things, they take too long. And no one seems to mind dressing babies in things that aren't quite perfect!

OP posts:
pudding77 · 08/05/2007 16:40

maybe its because all the baby stuff I've come across is quite flouncy, like you said...

So basically a stitch & bitch is a big knitting meet up?

BellaBear · 08/05/2007 16:41

I sincerely hope so ...

BellaBear I hope you had a great time. My knit'n'chat evening is the best night out of the month.

Now I'm knitting my cardigan watching "the Madness of King George" on filmfour - I think you've had the better company.

BellaBear · 09/05/2007 08:04

Oh it was fab! I will definitely go again. It was so lovely knitting with other knitters! Plus now I have a pattern for a wrap cardigan which I've been looking for.

Hey BellaBear,

I have signed up for the newsletter and am hoping to attend the next session, am dying to finish the scarf I started last Xmas and move on to cute little baby stuff as well. In what part of London do you live? I'm in Fulham.

rantinghousewife · 30/05/2007 20:43

Ohh you lucky thing, can't get to our local one, it's too far away.
Love my knitting and crocheting. Addicted to my sewing machine too.
